Balearic-based boutique hotel group OD Hotels has partnered with Laurent-Perrier to create a multi-course tasting menu with champagne pairing at its properties in Barcelona, Ibiza and Mallorca.
The sampling menu includes five courses served with different varieties of champagne from the legendary French maison. The acidity from such appetizer selections like langoustine and octopus ceviche and citrus prawn salad with mango and avocado contrasts with the fruity flavors of a glass of La Cuvée. Savory hints become the main actors in the next course, with dishes such as Iberico ham crostini, lobster roll and Veal Parmentier with truffles, providing a perfect balance to the fresh aroma and citric nuances of the Brut Millésime champagne. A selection of marinated meat and fish for the main course, such as duck confit and wild Corvina, match another two stars from the French maison: Ultra Brut and Grand Siècle. Desserts like an apple sphere tart filled with raspberry and gooseberry jam is a sophisticated creation, just sweet enough to be enjoyed with La Cuvée Rosé champagne.
Offering views of the Mediterranean Sea or Paseo de Gracia based on the location, the dining experience is available at OD Barcelona, OD Port Portals and OD Talamanca. At OD Barcelona, the meal is set on the hotel’s terrace surrounded by lush foliage, a clear respite in the city, while in Mallorca and Ibiza, the experience is set on each hotel’s rooftop terrace. The price for dinner with pairing costs 95€ ($111) per person. Reservations must be made in advance.
