Couples can toast their love in a private helicopter 1,000 feet in the air courtesy of OD Barcelona’s new romance package. In addition to a bird’s eye view of the capital of Catalonia, the experience from Balearic boutique hotel group OD Hotels’ newest hotel features a 6-course tasting dinner, private stroll down the Mediterranean metropolis’ most romantic alleys and passageways, cava and strawberries on arrival, and a surprise for its starry-eyed guests.
The tasting dinner begins with Royale de Foie Gras, Bluefin Tuna Tartare and Grilled Scallops. It also includes lobster poached in Beurre Blanc, Squab on Black Truffle Risotto and Guisante Lágrima (teardrop peas in English). Known as green caviar, the pea is the most expensive variety of the vegetable and can only be grown in the Catalan region of San Sebastian on the north coast. The culinary treat ends with a Dessert Trolley and Spanish wines.
The walking tour along Barcelona’s most romantic and evocative streets begins in the Gothic Quarter at Sant Felip Neri Square before continuing on to El Borne Quarter and the Church of Santa María del Mar. It concludes at the dome on top of National Museum of Art of Cataluña with views overlooking the city and the Montjuic neighborhood.
Inclusive of one night stay in a delux room, the package for two costs 388€ (approx. $482) inclusive of the helicopter experience or 250€ (approx. $310) without the flight. Additional room nights range from 130 Euros ($155) to 820 Euros ($977) per night depending on room type. Tax and breakfast are included. For more information and to book, visit www.odbarcelona.com.
