Pop Up Sandbank Restaurant Opens at Baros Maldives

Baros Maldives sandbank dining

A new pop up restaurant on a secluded sandbank in the Indian Ocean takes dining to new dimensions at Baros Maldives. For up to 40 diners nightly, the open air experience combines delectable cuisine, fine wine and attentive service all under the stars above Southeast Asia.

After being transported via the resort’s traditional handcrafted Maldivian sailing dhoni outside the resort’s lagoon, guests are greeted on the sandbank with a glass of champagne in time to watch the breathtaking sunset. Seven chefs await to prepare dinner from an a la carte menu different from what is served at the resort’s mainland restaurant. Menu highlights include Maldivian lobster, Reshmi Prawn Kababs, Rainbow runner fish and more. A salad bar and a sushi and sashimi station is also on site. To accompany the meal, a selection of premium wines is available from the sandbank sommelier.

The pop up sandbank restaurant is now available from 5 pm – 9 pm on a regular basis. This unique experience is open to all guests of Baros Maldives but reservations must be secured in advance, as space is limited.

Baros Maldives is a lush, award-winning island of 75 secluded villas, either beachside under coconut palms or built over the lagoon, ringed by white sand beaches and designed for romance. The resort’s spa, set within a tropical garden, has four large luxurious treatment suites, and a resident Yogi leads sessions for groups or conducts private classes in the Spa Pavilion, the floating “Piano Deck”, a sandbank in the midst of azure waters or by request anywhere on the island. Additionally, the island features three gourmet restaurants and two bars, as well as intimate sandbank dining experience exclusively for couples. Baros Resort sets the benchmark for a romantic, luxury holiday with genuine, heartfelt Maldivian hospitality.
